Within these pages we hope to include images and information on animal behaviour throughout the seasons. Pauline has a smallholding and her own personal nature reserve and is on constant watch for wildlife. Welcome to Thistledown Meadows. Rain, rain, go away, come again another day. We haven't taken our wellies off yet this summer, but some things benefit from the wet. The vegetation is lush and green with lots of blossom attracting an abundance of butterflies. We have seen an exceptional amount of Gatekeepers, Commas,Tortoiseshells, Red Admirals, Painted ladies, Ringlets and more, especially small and large whites which are devastating our cabbages. We have also been invaded by tiny toads and have to watch where we step. Let's keep our fingers crossed for some warm weather so we can have barbecues and end of summer fun, and maybe sit and watch spectacular sunsets instead of clouds.
